One more matter of pride is coming up soon in the lap of the North-east Indian landscape, with the announcement of India’s longest bridge being constructed across the mighty Brahmaputra at Bogibeel in Assam. This upcoming bridge is not only expected to be a link of lifeline for the Northeast region, but it will gradually strengthen the security of nation. This 4.94 km long rail-cum-road Bridge is a prestigious product of the 1985 Assam Accord, which is being implemented by the North East Frontier Railway. That will allow cutting down the distance to the border with China by near about 10 hours.
